Education & Employment
This working group is concerned with equal opportunities in access to employment and education, and with the implementation of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (DDA).
Its work includes:
Keeping a watching brief on equal access for disabled students. This includes communication support for deaf and hard of hearing students.
Our campaign for free lipreading classes and supporting the Association for Teachers of Lipreading to Adults (ATLA) on this campaign.
A committment to publicising the importance of lipreading and lipspeaking as methods of enhancing communication amongst deaf and hard of hearing people.
