Clubs and groups
Want to enlarge your circle of friends in an environment where hearing loss is not an obstacle? One way of networking and meeting other hard of hearing people is by going to, or setting up, a hard of hearing club.
There are over a hundred of these all over the UK. People who go to the clubs range from 18 years of age and over. The longest running club was started in 1929, and it is still going strong today. New clubs are created every year.
Each club arranges its own activities and social events. Clubs meet in many different places: community halls, pubs, church halls and people's homes.
Nearly all the clubs have a Christmas party, an annual general meeting and a summer event. Most of the clubs are 'self-sufficient' in the way that they run, but all clubs have a secretary, treasurer and chairperson.
See our link pages for information about hard of hearing clubs.
If you'd like to know more, please contact us and we'll pass on your contact details to the local organiser, who will get in touch with you directly. Contact Hearing Concern.
If you organise a local club or group please get in touch. We can include your club/group's website in our Links section, contact us.

If there isn't a group in your area, please consider starting one up! We'll give you advice on how to set up a club and tips on fundraising as well as ways of recruiting new members and networking with local professionals to help promote your club.
In addition to the local groups, younger members and active members of all ages will be interested in the HC Active! group, which organises activities and get-togethers nationally and in different parts of the country.
